Are you prepared for 3DTV?

You may have heard about this latest advancement in technology and if you haven't then I expect you have been under a rock for the past couple of years. Well 3D is already taking over our cinemas and every new film is coming out in 3D and soon enough 3DTV will be in our homes too. Are you prepared for it?

If the answer is no then it really doesn't matter as the progress from 2D to 3D TV isn't as big as jump from analogue to digital. You won't need to rush out and upgrade all your televisions or throw away that new Sony Bravia you bought last year. However, if you are buying a new TV soon make sure it is a 3D TV. They can cost a lot but you will be one of the first with the technology so that's to be expected.
If you own a Playstation 3 and you're wondering if it will work on your 3D TV the good news is that it will as a software update will simply be added which you can download and apply to your ps3. Same if you have a sky HD box there will be no need to have to fork out even more money for a 3D sky box.
So for now 3DTV is expensive and if you can't afford it but still want to experience it then many local pubs and bars are screening sports events in 3D. In the UK, many pubs are screening live premier league football in 3D and the quality is amazing.
So if your concerned that 3DTV is going to be very costly you should relax as its not essential just yet and TV has been in 2d for decades now and no one has had a problem with that!
